FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
These classes are offered for children about six or seven years old preparing to make their first Confession and to receive their first Holy Communion. The children receive instruction for about six months, starting in September and meeting each Sunday until First Communion in April. Each class lasts approximately thirty minutes, and is timed to allow families to attend either the 9:00am or 11:30am Mass. Instruction is based upon the Baltimore Catechism #1 (paperback, Kindle). If you are interested in enrolling one of your children, please speak with one of the priests or the teacher.

Time: Every Sunday, 10:15 – 10:45am
Location: Classroom in the Church basement
Teacher: Abby Ratterman

CONFIRMATION
The Archbishop administers Confirmation every two years at St. Philippine Duchesne. Therefore, these classes are offered every other year (they begin on odd years, e.g. fall 2015) to children at least eleven years old. Instruction is given each Sunday at 10:15 am from September to September, with a break for the summer months, and classes generally last about thirty minutes. Again, the time of the classes is scheduled in order to permit families to attend either the 9:00am or 11:30am Mass. Texts for the class include the Baltimore Catechism #2 (paperback, Kindle) and Preparation for Confirmation (paperback). If you are interested in enrolling one of your children, please speak with one of the priests or teachers.

Time: Every Sunday, 10:15 – 10:45am
Location: Choir Room in the Church basement
Teachers: Tony and Christine Funk

BEGINNING APOLOGETICS

In the year following Confirmation, students are encouraged to continue their studies by taking classes in Beginning Apologetics.  The class begins after Confirmation (usually in September) and meets every Sunday until its conclusion in May. The class time is the same, 10:15 – 10:45. Instruction is based on Beginning Apologetics #1: How to Explain and Defend the Catholic Faith (paperback). If you are interested in enrolling one of your children, please speak with one of the priests or teachers.

Time: Every Sunday, 10:15 – 10:45am
